Project Aims: 

The aim of this project is for students to prepare a written analysis on the various options as outlined above highlighting the benefits, advantages and potential risks associated with the final recommendations.  

This project will appeal to students with a keen interest and clear understanding of economics, business analytics and statistical modelling including forecasting and market analysis as it relates to contemporary, competitive and evolving global business environments.

You will be required to apply your critical thinking, analysis and problem solving skills to research, investigate and evaluate business information from various data sources with scope to assess the existing business model and propose recommendations for continued growth and expansion of the business. This may include but not be limited to the evaluation of existing corporate strategy, analysis of venture capital funding models and the review of existing case studies to support the overall project outcome.    

We have opportunities for students completing an MBA with a Business and/or Commercialisation focus, and Engineering students studying Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering.

Applications for this project are welcome from penultimate and subsequent year undergraduates, Masters and PhD students (coursework and research) who are enrolled full-time at Monash.

  • Skills, ability, knowledge and experience relevant to the project (s) you apply for
  • Extra - curricular activities (i.e. sports/clubs & societies/memberships)

  • Academic performance
  • Successful completion of group activity
  • Successful interview with industry partner

 Please note:

  • Scope for MITI projects are determined by the industry partners, this includes student disciplines and whether they require students at undergraduate, Masters or PhD level.
  • The final selection of the MITI project team will be made by the industry partner.
  • Each industry project will run for 12 weeks over the summer vacation period that is December 2016 through to February 2017.
  • If selected you must be available and agree to commit for the entire 12 week period.
